| Levreault, Lancers Beat Chargers, 12-8 | Getting a good performance from first baseman Eric Levreault, the Canby Lancers defeated the Topeka West Chargers, 12-8. Levreault went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Lancers. Canby reliever Ed Bardwell picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Matt DiCesare took the loss. Mike Mather finished the game for Canby and earned his 10th save.
Mark House hit a run-scoring double off Cory Holliday in the top of the second, which put the Lancers in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, House had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said House.
The Lancers bumped their record to 29-20 with this latest triumph.
