| Extra-Inning Win by Lions over Golden Bears | The Lerna Lions faced a tough opponent in Billings West pitcher Tim Hash, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Guadalajara HS Grounds by a final score of 3-2. Hash went 6.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. James Wheaton finished the game for Lerna and earned his 2nd save. With the victory, the Lions record now stands at 24-25.
The Lions beat the Golden Bears with some clutch hitting. The double by Mark McGwire Jr. in the top of the tenth is a good example. With two down, McGwire Jr. gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he came through with the big hit.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," McGwire Jr. said after the game.
