Vampires Win Thriller, 5-4

The Santa Clara Vampires topped the Downsview Mustangs, 5-4, with youngster Brad Adkins playing a key role. Adkins was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Vampires in the win. Even with the win, the Vampires have a dismal 17-32 record.

The Vampires got a big at-bat from designated hitter Kevin Berry. For the game, Berry went 2-4 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the tenth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 41st hit of the season gave Santa Clara a 5-4 lead.
