| Indians Score Late, Upend Panthers, 8-4 | The Jefferson Indians topped the Pitman High Panthers, 8-4, in Hank Aaron League action at Ballpark of Monterrey HS. The player of the game was Jefferson right fielder Wally Graham. Jefferson reliever Matthew Leasor was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Mike Scroggins took the loss. Joe Pennington picked up the save, his 8th.
Graham went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once against the Panthers. With the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that scored 1 and put Jefferson in front, 5-4.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Graham told the Jefferson News.
Jefferson, now 21-27, holds 5th place in the Hank Aaron League Willie Mays Division.
