| Mustangs Score Late to Upend Poly, 9-8 | The San Marin Mustangs did just enough to secure a 9-8 victory over the Riverside Poly at Silvertips Ballpark. Nobody did more than catcher Josh Veney, who captured player of the game honors. San Marin reliever Howie Scott picked up the win to move to 2-1. Chad Davison suffered the loss. The Mustangs bumped their record to 26-21 with this latest triumph.
San Marin's win came gift-wrapped. With no one out in the bottom of the ninth, with the game tied, Isaiah Eubanks reached on an error by the C, driving in 1 run.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Veney said.
