Patriots Stymie Norwich, Take 3-1 Win

The Francis Lewis Patriots got a magnificent performance from pitcher Elijah Thomas, who muffled the Norwich offense en route to a tight 3-1 Patriots win at Ottawa HS Grounds. Thomas, the winner, moves to 3-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 1 walk. Alan McEachern was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and one out in the bottom of the third inning. That's when second baseman Garrett Hanford hit a single. The Patriots went on to win.

"Elijah was throwing strikes, locating well," said Francis Lewis manager Justin Easton.

The Patriots bumped their record to 24-21 with this latest triumph.
