Great Stroke: Doi Gets 5 Hits
Tuesday, September 5th, 2034
Even as a kid, Yasuzo Doi said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Vin Scully Park today, Doi showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 22-year-old left fielder had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Rockville Rangers, helping his team knock off the Brooklyn Cyclones by a score of 18-4.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."
Yasuzo Doi singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
So far this season Doi has 10 home runs and a .333 batting average.
