Matheny Grabs PFL Best Batter Award for August Friday, September 1st, 2034 Mike Matheny is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the Long Beach first baseman joined that select company when the Prince Fielder League announced the results of August's voting. Matheny totaled 39 hits, 15 walks, 17 home runs, 35 RBIs and 22 runs scored last month to put together a .368 batting average and .446 on-base percentage. A look at his season totals shows Matheny with 32 home runs, .365 BA, .440 OBP, 83 RBIs and 47 runs scored. |
