Strickland Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Thursday, August 17th, 2034 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Matt Strickland today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium and paced the Diamonds to a 5-3 win over the Rockville Rangers. After his dynamite batting performance, the Tunica left fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Matt Strickland hit a solo-shot off Jimmy Turner in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
