Ibarra Batters Sedona for 5 Hits
Thursday, August 10th, 2034
The Panana City Bombers stopped the Sedona Sabercats by a score of 22-1 at The Lair at Sabercat Field today, with the lion's share of the credit going to left fielder Sam Ibarra. The 21-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Ibarra said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Ibarra did just that in his 7 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Sabercats.
"Not much that I can say," offered Sedona manager Edgardo Bautista. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Sam Ibarra singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Jimmy Gregus in the 9th.
This season Ibarra is batting .294 with 6 home runs. He has scored 18 runs and driven in 20.
