Larvae End Wesseler's Streak Thursday, July 20th, 2034 The Victoria Totems lost to the The Stinging Larvae 2-1 today at The Queen, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Mike Wesseler's 22-game hitting streak. The left fielder went 0-for-3 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Wesseler, we would win the game," Larvae manager Antonio Alejos explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." Currently Wesseler has 8 home runs and a .374 batting average. |
