Player of the Week: Long Beach's Matheny Monday, July 17th, 2034 It was announced today that Long Beach designated hitter Mike Matheny had received the Prince Fielder League Player of the Week Award for his impressive play last week. All week long he was terrific at the plate and won the honor with a .414 BA (12-for-29), 7 home runs and 16 RBIs. This season in 20 games Matheny is batting .365 with 9 home runs, 32 RBIs and has scored 17 times. |
