Varmits Buonanno Out Rest Of Season Friday, March 18th, 2033 The doctors have spoken and Nick Buonanno of the Yuma Varmits didn't like what he heard. The 21-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Buonanno sustained his season-ending injury during the Victoria Totems game yesterday at Royal Athletic Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Yuma medical staff reported Buonanno had a torn rotator cuff and would be absent from the lineup for at least 9 months. To date this season, Buonanno has registered 13 starts, 4-4 won-lost mark, 4.32 ERA, 102 IP, 113 strikeouts and 36 walks. Opposing teams have hit .269 against him. |
