Champagne Cracks 3 HR for Varmits Wednesday, February 16th, 2033 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Panana City Bombers today. Yuma left fielder Adam Champagne tripled up on the home runs to propel the Varmits to the 10-6 win at Donald J. Trump Presidential Stadium. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Panana City manager Gustavo Ruíz said. "Champagne hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Champagne collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Adam Champagne singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Miguel Ramirez in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Miguel Ramirez in the 5th, walked in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th and hit a two-run home run off Dwight Newson in the 10th. Thus far this year Champagne is batting .324 with 7 home runs, 19 RBIs and 16 runs scored. |
