Big 3-HR Day for Evans
Saturday, January 8th, 2033
Sedona Sabercats third baseman Phil Evans had a magnificent game against the Normal Nutcrackers today, rocketing three balls out of The Nutcracker Suite to help the Sabercats take the 10-9 victory.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Evans went 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Sedona manager Edgardo Bautista said later. "Seems like Phil found his home run stroke today."
Phil Evans hit a solo-shot off Cedric Gold in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jack Mainjer in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Ryan Hamblin in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
On the year Evans is hitting .350 with 7 hits, 4 home runs, 5 RBIs, .435 OBP and has scored 5 runs.
