Corona Puts Spell on Santa Barbara
Saturday, March 13th, 2032
Vincente Corona led the Brooklyn Cyclones to a 1-0 shutout victory over the Santa Barbara Suenos at Vin Scully Park today.

"My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Corona recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location."

Corona yielded 2 hits and had 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in the standout performance.

"I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," Santa Barbara manager Jacob Carlson said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching."

This season Corona has nailed down no saves with 69 strikeouts in 86.1 innings. He is credited with 7 wins and 2 losses and has a 3.23 earned run average.
