Ridin' High: Marando Hits for Cycle
Friday, March 5th, 2032
Roberto Marando punished the Rosewell Tribbles today, leading the Sabercats to a 12-11 win. In doing so, Marando hit for the cycle, tagging the Tribbles for 4 hits in 6 at-bats.
A player hitting a single, a double, a triple and a home run in the same game is one of the more unusual feats in professional baseball and typically happens only a couple times per season.
"Well, I didn't expect that to happen," the Sedona catcher said after the game. "I got some great pitches and I hit their mistakes."
Marando also had 3 runs batted in and 1 run scored in the game at The Lair at Sabercat Field.
Roberto Marando doubled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Mike Geiler in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, tripled in the 8th, grounded out in the 10th and walked in a run in the 11th.
So far this season Marando has hit .368 with 3 home runs, 10 RBIs and scored 13 times.
