Monday, March 1st, 2032
Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Rich Owen, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The St. Paul Grognards closer, 20, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .214 average and walked away with the Cecil Fielder League Pitcher of the Month award for February.
Owen posted a 2-0 mark and a 1.54 ERA in 11 relief appearances. In 11.2 innings, he had 9 saves, 15 strikeouts, and 3 walks.
This season Owen has recorded a 3-1 won-lost mark, pitched in 19 relief appearances and rung up 15 saves. He has a 2.25 ERA and has allowed 18 hits over his 20 innings of work, struck out 29 batters and walked 6.
