Yuma Snaps Bahena's Streak at 25
Saturday, February 21st, 2032
Rosewell second baseman Alex Bahena went 0-for-5 today in Rosewell's 6-3 triumph over the Yuma Varmits, snapping his 25-game hitting streak.

Bahena spoke to BNN after the game and said he "knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later."

"I just would have preferred later," he said with a laugh. "It was fun though."

When Bahena made an out in his last chance at the plate, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout. In the clubhouse after the game, he seemed unbothered by the streak ending.

"There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," Varmits manager Adam Haddox said of Bahena's streak. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here."

This season Bahena is batting .326 with 47 hits and 7 home runs. He has scored 23 times and has 23 runs batted in.
