Hit Parade: Miller Gets Cycle
Thursday, May 18th, 2034
Getting 4 hits in a game is no easy feat, but doing it to hit for the cycle is even more rare.
Peyton Miller of the Downsview Mustangs pulled it off today at Visigoths Stadium, going 4-for-6 against the Santa Clara Vampires. His batting escapades sparked the Mustangs to a 15-14 victory.
Miller tallied 3 runs and drove in 3 during the game. Hitting for the cycle is particularly rare because of the different skills required - enough power for a home run, enough speed for a triple and enough patience at the plate to see at least four hittable balls.
"It just happened," Miller said to reporters after the win. "Must have been fate or something, I wasn't expecting it. Heck, I wasn't even really trying for it."
Peyton Miller tripled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Brian Majewski in the 6th, struck out in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
For the season Miller is hitting .326, batted in 51 runs with 11 home runs and 56 runs scored.
