Panthers End Boyd's Streak Friday, May 5th, 2034 The Enterprise Hornets lost to the Pitman High Panthers 12-5 today at Oranges Ballpark, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Darius Boyd's 27-game hitting streak. The right fielder went 0-for-3 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Boyd, we would win the game," Panthers manager Juan Lopez explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." During the current season Boyd is batting at a .411 clip with 2 home runs and 23 RBIs. He has played in 32 games and scored 32 times. |
