Goeman Befuddles George Washington
Friday, April 28th, 2034
Before the game, Bill Goeman said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Ballpark of Villahermosa HS, the Lancers pitcher whitewashed the George Washington Patriots 13-0.
"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Goeman said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my fastball even when I was behind in the count."
The Canby starter held George Washington scoreless, giving up 7 hits while registering 10 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Patriots manager Frank Robles said in his postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
This season Goeman has worked 66 innings with 80 strikeouts en route to a 3-4 record and a 4.64 ERA.
