Jaguars End Robles's Streak
Monday, April 10th, 2034
It was the best of both worlds for the Jacksonville State Jaguars today at Chickenhawks Stadium, as they defeated the Pitman High Panthers 8-1 and also snapped Cruz Robles's 29-game hitting streak. The 14-year-old Pitman High left fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Robles, we just wanted to win the game," said Jaguars skipper Jeromy Hager. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Robles frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."
For the season Robles is currently batting .371 with 3 home runs and 17 RBIs. In 30 games he has reached base at a .417 rate and scored 28 runs to date.
