Hoffman Records Shutout Against Carl Albert
Thursday, April 6th, 2034
The Carl Albert Titans manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Grand Island Islanders. The Titans were overpowered by Grand Island starter Austin Hoffman, who hurled his club to victory, 2-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Felipe Espinoza said.
Over 9 innings, Hoffman blanked Carl Albert on 6 hits with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Hoffman said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
So far this season Hoffman has compiled a 2-1 record with a 6.46 ERA.
