Liu Records Shutout Against Jacksonville State
Thursday, April 6th, 2034
The Jacksonville State Jaguars manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Kearny High Cardinals. The Jaguars were overpowered by Kearny High starter I-po Liu, who hurled his club to victory, 11-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Jeromy Hager said.
Over 9 innings, Liu blanked Jacksonville State on 7 hits with 4 walks and 15 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Liu said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
So far this season Liu has compiled a 2-3 record with a 3.61 ERA.
