McGar on Fire: 5-for-5 for Jefferson Wednesday, April 5th, 2034 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for John McGar, it came around today. The 14-year-old left fielder scattered hits all over Oranges Ballpark to pace the Jefferson Indians to a 11-9 victory over the Enterprise Hornets. Enterprise skipper Yassin Flament told reporters in the press room that "McGar deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, McGar hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." John McGar singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Willie Lopez in the 6th, singled in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
