McCarthy's Hit Streak Reaches 25 Games Saturday, March 18th, 2034 Kevin McCarthy ran his hitting streak to 25 straight games today at Loggers Ballpark, when he collected 1 hit in 3 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Grand Island Islanders dropped the game, 27-5, to the Kearny High Cardinals. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," McCarthy said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Kevin McCarthy grounded out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and walked in a run in the 9th.
