Hitting Streak Still Alive for McCarthy Monday, March 13th, 2034 Kevin McCarthy, center fielder for the Grand Island Islanders, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 1 hit in his club's 5-4 victory today over the Jacksonville State Jaguars at Chickenhawks Stadium today. "Not the outcome we wanted," Jacksonville State manager Jeromy Hager said. "There's never a good time to lose, and it's never fun to be on the wrong end of somebody else's accomplishment." Kevin McCarthy walked in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
