Wakeley's Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Saturday, March 11th, 2034 Nate Wakeley's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 20 games. The Lerna first baseman smacked 1 hit against the Francis Lewis Patriots in today's game at Ottawa HS Grounds, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Lions drop the game, 13-10. "I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly." Nate Wakeley grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and flied out in the 9th. This season Wakeley is batting .407 with 11 hits and no home runs.
