Richey Goes 5-for-5 Against Topeka West
Thursday, March 9th, 2034
The Tioga Central Tigers stopped the Topeka West Chargers by a score of 21-12 at Breakers Ballpark today, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Gabe Richey. The 15-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Richey said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Richey did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Chargers.
"Not much that I can say," offered Topeka West manager Jack Fannon. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Gabe Richey singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Kyle Brisson in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, walked in the 8th, walked in the 9th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Albert Noperi in the 9th.
