No Easy Feat: Pitcher Wins PRL Most Valuable Player Award
Monday, June 20th, 2033
Not only has Sam Berg been named winner of the 2033 Pete Rose League Most Valuable Player Award, he's done it at an age when many of his peers are still trying to establish themselves in LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL.
"I feel fortunate to win this award at age 18," he said. "I feel like I still have my best years ahead of me. Hopefully I can put my name on this trophy a few more times."
The Francis Lewis Patriots ace had a 11-0 record over 14 starts and 91 innings. He struck out 96, issued 38 walks and had an impressive 2.67 ERA.
Batters hit only .231 against him during the season.
Eddie Lannigan of the Topeka West Chargers finished second in voting, while Jacob Olsen of the Lerna Lions finished third.
