Great Stroke: Bird Gets 5 Hits

It was a big day for Ken Bird and he brought the Derby Panthers along for the ride.
Bird led his club to a 12-5 victory over the George Washington Patriots today at Managua HS Grounds, smoking George Washington pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. The 17-year-old center fielder later called the victory "sweet."
Ken Bird singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Randy Musgrave in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Tommy Norton in the 4th, singled in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
