Murphy's Hit Streak Reaches 20 Games Wednesday, May 11th, 2033 Win or lose, Dan Murphy just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. The Derby Panthers right fielder went 1-for-3 today, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated 13-4 by the Tenafly Tigers at Ballpark of León HS. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Dan Murphy doubled in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and grounded out in the 9th. Murphy is batting at a .421 pace this season, picking up 61 hits in 145 at-bats with 5 home runs, 22 RBIs and 28 runs scored. |
