Season May Be Over for Cardinals Wood
Sunday, May 1st, 2033
The season is finished for Travis Wood of the Kearny High Cardinals. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Cardinals reliever suffered shoulder inflammation while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Jacksonville State Jaguars. Team doctors said it would take at least 4-5 months to heal.

Wood has taken the mound for 7 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 0-0 record with a 3.46 ERA. The Kearny High reliever has limited opposing batters to a .275 batting average.
