Injury Sidelines Sam Hemingway For Year
Thursday, April 7th, 2033
The doctors have spoken and Sam Hemingway of the Derby Panthers didn't like what he heard. The 18-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Hemingway sustained his season-ending injury during the Tioga Central Tigers game yesterday at Alleycats Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Derby medical staff reported Hemingway had a torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 12 months.
Checking out his stats for the season, Hemingway has registered 1 win and 1 loss in 5 starts, 7.56 ERA and struck out 19 batters in 16.2 innings.
