Collins Smacks 5 Hits for Islanders Monday, April 4th, 2033 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Ben Collins today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Swamp Foxes Stadium and paced the Islanders to a 24-13 win over the College Park. After his dynamite batting performance, the Grand Island left fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Ben Collins hit a two-run single in the 1st, walked in a run in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Matt Hendrickson in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th, walked in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
