Tigers End Lannigan's Streak
Wednesday, March 30th, 2033
For 34 straight games, Eddie Lannigan tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy.

Well, the 18-year-old Topeka West Chargers right fielder can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the Tenafly Tigers. The Tigers held him hitless in 4 at-bats at Breakers Ballpark today and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 34.

There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Chargers took the win by the score of 10-4.

"I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now."

Lannigan is presently hitting at a .479 pace with 11 home runs and 44 RBIs. He has played in 22 games and scored 29 times.
