Lannigan Ups Hit Streak to 33 Consecutive Games

The Topeka West Chargers stopped the Jacksonville State Jaguars today 25-16 and Eddie Lannigan collected a base hit yet again. The Topeka West right fielder finished with 3 hits to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 33.
"I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Lannigan told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games." Eddie Lannigan flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Todd Ridley in the 3rd, walked in a run in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, struck out in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Kyle Bjork in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
This year Lannigan is hitting .500, produced 44 RBIs and 11 home runs, scored 27 times and gotten on base at a .562 rate.
