Cardinals Snap Grimes's Streak at 23
Saturday, March 12th, 2033
Tioga Central catcher Brendan Grimes went 0-for-6 today in Tioga Central's 4-3 triumph over the Montreal Cardinals, snapping his 23-game hitting streak.
Grimes spoke to BNN after the game and said he "knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later."
"I just would have preferred later," he said with a laugh. "It was fun though."
When Grimes made an out in his last chance at the plate, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout. In the clubhouse after the game, he seemed unbothered by the streak ending.
"There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," Cardinals manager Hector Corretjer said of Grimes's streak. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here."
This season Grimes is hitting at a .276 pace with 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and has scored 5 times.
