Schmitz Batters Pitman High for 6 Hits Tuesday, May 18th, 2032 Grand Island left fielder Ebbe Schmitz had a day to remember today, 6-for-6 against the Pitman High Panthers at Batfish Ballpark as the Islanders picked up a 26-4 victory. "He was patient up there today," Grand Island skipper Doug Taylor told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Schmitz has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes." Ebbe Schmitz singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 4th, walked in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
