Keeley Has 20-Game Hitting Streak
Saturday, April 24th, 2032
With 1 hit at Ballpark of Morelia HS today, David Keeley added another game to his hitting streak -- the Billings West second baseman has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Golden Bears today, as they fell, 9-8, to the Grand Island Islanders.
"Frankly, I don't care about hits," Grand Island manager Doug Taylor said later. "I'll let him get 4 hits in 4 at-bats if it means we get a win." David Keeley grounded out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and flied out in the 8th.
Keeley is batting at a .337 pace this season, picking up 58 hits in 172 at-bats with 4 home runs, 12 RBIs and 45 runs scored.
