Savoca Smacks 5 Hits for Jaguars
Tuesday, April 20th, 2032
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Jim Savoca, it came around today.
The 18-year-old left fielder scattered hits all over Chickenhawks Stadium to pace the Jacksonville State Jaguars to a 7-2 victory over the Central Tech Blues.
Central Tech skipper Yassin Flament told reporters in the press room that "Savoca deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Savoca hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Jim Savoca singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Looking at his stats this year, Savoca has compiled a .237 batting average, while hitting 2 home runs and driving in 7 runs. He has played in 34 games and scored 20 runs.
