Clifton Hits in 20 Straight Games Monday, March 29th, 2032 Montreal lost to the Jefferson Indians 17-12 at Ballpark of Monterrey HS today, but Jim Clifton kept his consecutive-game hitting streak alive with 4 hits. The Cardinals left fielder has now delivered hits in 20 straight games. "Jim has a nice streak going, but the scoreboard tells the important story today," Montreal manager Hector Corretjer told reporters after the game. "We lost, no matter how many hits anyone had." Jim Clifton singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. To date Clifton has chalked up a .483 average with 4 home runs, driven in 17 runs and scored 21 times. |
