Lapham Unloads 4 Bombs in One Game
Saturday, March 27th, 2032
Hitting a single home run is a tough task. Hitting two in a game is impressive. Hitting three is remarkable. Anything beyond that is borderline unbelievable -- yet that's what Bill Lapham did today in the 21-9 Canby Lancers victory over the Carl Albert Titans.
Lapham went 5-for-5 with 4 home runs and drove in 8 runs in a once-in-a-lifetime feat that the opposing manager later labeled "impossible."
"I don't believe it really happened," Titans manager Felipe Espinoza joked to BNN reporters afterward. "I don't ever enjoy losing a game, but this kid was special today. I have never seen a guy hit 4 in a game before. I didn't enjoy it, but it was special."
Bill Lapham hit a two-run home run off Aiden McMullen in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Aiden McMullen in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Steve Rankin in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Steve Rankin in the 5th, singled in the 6th and walked in the 8th.
For the season Lapham is currently batting .387 with 6 home runs and 21 RBIs. In 18 games he has reached base at a .447 rate and scored 16 runs to date.
