Monday, June 16th, 2031
Fans of the Lerna Lions are hoping there are many more awards to come for their talented ace, Chris Sanchez.
At the age of only 19, the star pitcher has been named the Pete Rose League Most Valuable Player Award winner for 2031.
"We knew Sanchez was a special player, but I don't think anyone expected him to get this good, this fast," the Lerna manager said.
Sanchez's dominant season saw him throw 112 innings, with a 1.93 ERA and .197 opponent's batting average. He had a record of 9-1 through 13 starts and compiled a 5.0 WAR along the way.
Tatsuhito Suzuki of the George Washington Patriots finished second in voting, while Sam Berg of the Francis Lewis Patriots finished third.
