Pak Stretches Hit String to 20 Tuesday, July 11th, 2034 Chiba Lotte lost to the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles 11-2 at Sailboats Ballpark today, but Cheong-u Pak kept his consecutive-game hitting streak alive with 1 hit. The Marines second baseman has now delivered hits in 20 straight games. "Cheong-u has a nice streak going, but the scoreboard tells the important story today," Chiba Lotte manager Ira Wood told reporters after the game. "We lost, no matter how many hits anyone had." Cheong-u Pak flied out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. Pak is hitting .382 so far this season with 22 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He has 68 hits including 3 home runs, 10 walks and .422 OBP. |
