Hawks Shigenori Kawata to Miss Year Wednesday, June 28th, 2034 Shigenori Kawata has to call it a season. The Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks right fielder sustained a season-ending injury against the Saitama Seibu Lions and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Kawata was injured while making a defensive play. His doctors diagnosed it as a torn labrum and stated that he would not be able to play for 9 months. In 27 games this season Kawata has compiled a .209 batting average with 18 hits and 1 home run. He has also scored 7 times and knocked in 10 runs. |
