Nagao Stretches Hit String to 30 Friday, June 9th, 2034 The number just keeps getting higher. Yomiuri left fielder Hiromi Nagao has now extended his hitting string to 30 games. He did it today with 2 hits in 3 at-bats as the Yomiuri took the 7-6 win over the Yokohama Bay Stars at Ballpark of Yamagata College. "Who knows how long it will go on?" Yokohama manager Miguel Gómez said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Hiromi Nagao struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, was hit by a pitch in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and walked in the 8th. Looking at his present stats, Nagao has compiled a .397 batting average in 18 games with a .482 on-base percentage, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 20 runs. |
