Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Nagao
Monday, May 29th, 2034
The number just keeps getting higher.
Yomiuri left fielder Hiromi Nagao has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 2 hits in 4 at-bats as the Yomiuri took the 6-0 win over the Hanshin Tigers at Ballpark of Otofuke College.
"Who knows how long it will go on?" Hanshin manager Bob Edwards said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Hiromi Nagao struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Tsutomu Mori in the 6th, was hit by a pitch in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
So far this year in 8 games Nagao is hitting .471 with 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 9 runs scored.
