Cy Young Award Presented to Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Star Thursday, April 13th, 2034 Pete Willoughby walked away with the top pitching honors in the Pacific League this year. The Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters starter was named the Cy Young Award winner for 2033 earlier today. This outstanding 20-year-old hurler fashioned a fine 1-1 won-lost record in 6 starts. He threw 27.1 innings, giving up 17 hits and 7 walks and holding opponents to a .177 average. Willoughby struck out 36 and posted a 0.99 ERA. Yoon-tae Pack of the Chiba Lotte Marines finished second in voting, while Justin Utting of the Saitama Seibu Lions finished third. |
